Situated in Liddesdale in Scotland. The original castle was was built in the 13th century by Lord de Soules and all that remains are the very impressive earthworks. The present castle was begun by an English Lord, Sir Hugh de Dacre, around 1360 but was transformed into the formidable stronghold we see today by William, 1st Earl of Douglas, one of Scotland's most powerful noblemen.
